  1. As I wrap up my holiday preparations (family portraits were tonight), I realize that I haven't been here as much as I should have been as of late.

Just in case I fail in the future to the degree that I have (sadly) failed in the past few months to drop by & make my thoughts known...

Happy Holidays Everyone! Love you all & I hope you have the opportunity to spend this season with people you love & adore (or, if those options fail, can at least tolerate).

    All the best,

    Candace

  2. I cracked up at the "can at least tolerate" line -- that's all of our families, right?

I am fortunate that most of my family lives in this area. The furthest any of my cousins travel to come in for Christmas is about 2 hours. That also means that, while I get to spend the holidays with the ones I love, I get to leave and go back to my apartment while I still have that warm, fuzzy feeling and before I just want to rip my hair out!

That said, I'd like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas, a lovely New Year, and a happy [insert holiday here]!

I've been accused of being a Scrooge this year because I didn't put my tree up (and I usually have it up, decorated, and all my gifts wrapped neatly in matching paper underneath by December 1st). It just didn't quite happen this year. I did set out my Nativity Scene, which I have told all my detractors is all the decoration I need (who is going to argue that point?), and when I came home last night to a mountain of Amazon packages, I wrapped gifts to my heart's content.

I do so enjoy gift-giving. I wish I had a million dollars so I could give everyone all the things that they want. I have to settle on a much smaller budget, though. And let's be real -- of course I enjoy gift-getting as well! Here's hoping you all get exactly what you want this year. And enjoy some time off work for relaxation!

I'm all wrapped up with my presents for my family this year which is first! I wish you all a very merry christmas and remember to eat and drink lots (but of course be sensible!). I'm really looking forward to having 10 days off work to just chill with family and friends, that's what christmas is all about :)
